All clean,clear to go!
Well, after like 4 days of cleaning, I finally decided to do the lazy thing that I refused to do: patch my windows. Yea, I patched it with 2 patches and left my FW off and let the comp run the whole night. RESULT: Clean bill of health. Yippee! No more DC or anything like that.
Probably going to do the same for Jess' comp too when I get to her place. The loophole in XP allowed those viruses to get in. A good lesson for us to keep our systems updated and patched.
On second thoughts, AVG isn't bad for a FREE anti-virus, but their virus database a bit slow, I still had 4-5 sasser worms yesterday. Different variants though. That's after updating the AVG and rescanning my comp.
Now's well and good... at least for the time being. At least I can game in peace w/o the "YOUR COMP IS SHUTTING DOWN IN 60 SECS" ZzzZZ
