Weeee CNY and V-day just flew past!!

Well, we had a swell of time celebrating CNY. I put on weight on the first day of CNY. I ate 5 meals k? We didn't go to Chinatown on CNY Eve because we were afraid of the crowd and GETTING back!! Moreover, we went there a couple of times before that. Jess was a tad busy with her dance, but we managed to make time for a few trips to Chinatown to soak in the atmosphere. We each bought ourself a spring "Chun" because 2005 is a year without spring. I stuck mine up-side down in my door whilst Jess had hers above her LCD at home.

We woke up pretty decent for CNY first day. Didn't shower as wanted to keep the luck with myself. kekekekee. Ate brunch at Eldest Paternal Uncle's place. Then later went over the Maternal Grandma's place to do visiting and MORE Ang Bao collection... My darling wasn't too lucky.. Apparently her grandma allowed the celebration of CNY (they didn't celebrate last year because her Gramps passed away the year before) but all her relatives were decked out in red and pink, save for her family who didn't wear any red stuff. She didn't know whether it was a mis-communication or anything like that but she thought her mom was a bit pissed? After which we met in town to watch movie. To our surprise, not that many shops were closed and we promised Jess' mom to go back and eat steam-boat!

We had decided to celebrate V-day on the weekend before the actual day on Monday. I surprised her with half-dozen of roses for her. :) Jess had booked a room at Copthorne (near Zouk!) and we had a great time doing post-cny shopping. Jess bought me a comfortable (AND FITTING! YES!) pair of Hush Puppies shoes.. Finally managed to get a pair which fits me. It's a all-decked out leather pair, very comfortable.... I also got myself a Tzi Beads bracelet (finally as Jess says) as I found a piece which I really loved. I got the same 9-eye bead as Jess. I loved 9-eye pieces lots... Jess had bought hers at Fu Lu Shou Complex... but I hadn't found a piece I really liked. Before the shopping I had treated Jess to Jack's Place... We hadn't been there in ages.... I had been snubbed at my favourite wine shop at Taka the day before (11 Feb 05) at Oak Cellars as I was dressed casually. The gal ignored me and I had to PICK out myself a bottle of Dead Arm". We had this shopping trip to buy each other V-day Gifts. I got her a milk foamer as well as a nice acylitic container for her to put drinking water in for her office use. That was in addition to her very-romantic silver bracelet I had bought for her earlier ^_^ Jess got me a nice Springfield leather bag and a money clip which I dunno how to use >.<

After the Tzi Bead shopping, we adjourned back to our room. We all thought that we were going to make a trip down to the Wine Bar at Zouk but age got better of us? We savoured the nice bottle of Dead Arm, and now possess bragging rights that we had drank a bottle.. I think there are hardly > 50 bottles in Singapore?

The next day when we checked out, we made our usual date to eat Sakae at Wheelock. :)

As Monday was the actual day, I was in charge of collecting the roses from the supplier. As such, I had taken the opportunity to order for my private use. I gave KW 6 stalks, Jess a grand total of 24 stalks and my mom & sis 10 stalks. As expectedly, Jess' colleague helped herself to 1 stalk of the red rose +_+ After work we met for a simple dinner at a nice eatery- My mom's cuisine. :) Did a little grocery shopping. We noted that the prices of roses are a lot cheaper. The road-side peddlars were selling 3 for $10!!! As compared to the $10 per stalk which was the norm in the past years. After the ordering incident, I just realised how much money is made from flowers sold at premium. You are talking up to few thousand %. I kid you not!!!! We had a pleasant V-day. :)
