blogging..

Today is sianz day? Well, besides screening my eyes and getting a neck/back/shoulder ache in the process reconciling some figures, I don't think I did anything much for work except for the 4 correspondences I sent out.

Well, on a positive note: things can only get better.

Herbal Chicken Thief!

Well, it was supposedly my dinner, or at least my mom swears it.

She said she reserved the chix wing for me to eat for my dinner. Lo and behold, after she heated up the herbal chicken for me for my dinner.

Realised that there was nothing left in the packet of foil except for some gravy? Even the chix wings are not to be found!

After smelling Magic's mouth, we are quite certain that she's the thief! She ate all of my dinner! [sobs] The bones and all were gone.. but I think poor Magic had scalded her tongue. After the offence, she spent the next 2 hours hiding underneath my bed. Jess asked whether I have scolded her... Guess it was too late. Moreover, I think it was rather funny.

My day today....

Mom invited me to electrical appliance shopping, so I gladly accompanied her to Safe Superstore to get a couple of stuff. My sis left home earlier than us as she had an appointment at Katong at 5pm. But she was waiting at the bus-stop for bus 40 when my dad drove us out. LOL.

Kind me decided that we should pick her up and drive her down.... fortunately.. because she was in fact 2 min early!

After that, Dad drove us to Safe Superstore at Sims.. pretty cheap stuff (for e.g. my smoothie maker was SGD$20 cheaper than outside but the place was quite in a mess... You must really know what you are looking for in order to get a ready good bargain.

After shopping for 40 min (my mom said it's SHORT for her usual shopping trips) the damage is as follows:

1 oven-toaster (cheap cheap, SGD16+ only)
1 Hairdryer (SGD$19?)
1 Blender/Juicer combo (SGD$29.90!!!)
1 Iron (forgot price)
4 toothbrushes (SGD$1 @)
8 AAA energizer batts (SGD$3 for 4 pcs; I don't think it was that cheap, it was the ordinary kind... but oh well)

After my mom utilised her SGD$16 which she accumulated through points, the total bill only came up to $64+. Cheap eh?

Then we took taxi back. LOLX

Had a solid holiday at BKK 5D4N!

Well, as I had promised Jess, I WON'T sleep for first hour I arrive. True to my word, we were out trotting on the streets once we dropped our luggage at the hotel.

More details at Jess' blog. :

Basically the tour went like this for DAY 1:
PORNTIP-> MBK-> SIAM DISCOVERY CENTRE-> PATPONG

Porntip is like the Sim Lim Square of Singapore. Selling yesterday's technology at last year's prices... Well, you get my point. ;) It's not as updated as SLS but probably if you needed a cheap and not too advanced fix, you could get it there. As Jess mentioned, we managed to get a really good deal on "the L Word" Season 1 DVDs. Real cool. :) I also managed to buy my ROC for < SGD30 but regretted not taking the last piece of the TFT for a lesser price as well. Oh well. What we truly regretted is not buying the Thai version Sims 2 expansion "University". We were quite gutless. We weren't sure that it would install correctly on our English version Sims 2 but on hindsight, I don't think EA would be that free to come out with a Thai version. >.< Oh well, it was retailing for half the price in SG. OUCH!

Anyway, just so you guys know, we haven't bought the "University" expansion set. :)

After which we adjourned to MBK. Of which Jess bought 5 really cheap and imitation handbags. :) She initially wanted all to herself, ended up she gave my mom and sis one each, and her mom 2. So she kept only 1 small one for herself ;)

After shopping at MBK, we were plushed and hungry. We crossed over to Siam Discovery Centre for dinner. And foolishly chose Outback Steakhouse when we do have a branch in Singapore which we do not patronise. LOLX. Had some SG priced food [ouch] and beer. >.< After dinner we had decided we were rejuvenated and strong enough to go for more shopping!

I then asked Jess whether she wanted to go to the night market Patpong AKA (TIGER) THAI GERL SHOW AREA.

Well, we walked 2 rounds. And I had the "see show" face and the touts were trying their utmost best to pull us in for a "kan tou" time. After much hesitation, we had decided to go into a "show" area. Bad spot though. Beer was 4 times the normal price and we were slaughtered left-right centre to give 'donations'. Well, it was a good experience for Jess as she hadn't seen one before and wondered how the 'performance' was like. -.- Well, just so that it reminds us that every woman who does that kind of show is someone's daughter and/or mother. And IMO, no woman should be doing such a thing for "shows". We were pretty silent and solemn after leaving the place. We had not finished the beer and left abruptly.

After which we went to the supermarket to get some toiletries and such. Then was almost slaughtered by a taxi driver who refused to switch on the meter and gave crap like it's at night and he wouldn't drive us back. For once, I actually took the 2nd tuk tuk trip as I was quite adamant to swear off tuk tuk and it's non-metered fare. Well, the tuk tuk was the least priced... and we certainly did hone a little of our noob bargaining skills. We were very glad to be back in the hotel for a good night's rest and we planned the touristsy itinerary for day 2. :)

DAY 2

We were planning temple trips. Got up last minute late as usual for the free buffet breakfast at hotel. Was pleasantly surprised with pig blood's on the menu and wolfed down 2 bowls. I hadn't eaten there for a decade! LOVELY! :"

We then took a taxi down to the Palace of Reclining Buddha. Beautiful place. Serene and peaceful. Went a tad crazy with our new Sony W5 and took many brillant shots. Long trip down though, it was way at the other end. Anyway, you should really check out Jess' blog for the details... :) we visited a lot of temples and took the river ride the local way. :D

Till then I blog again :D
